DELEGATE TERMS & CONDITIONS
These terms and conditions govern your participation in any Straight2 Complete Conference & Event Management managed event; meeting; conference (‘the Event’), on behalf of Australian Insurance Law Association (‘the Host’).
By registering for the Event, you agree to these terms. If you are registering on behalf of another individual, it is your responsibility to ensure the person participating is aware of these terms and accepts them. By completing the registration on behalf of another individual you are warranting that you have made the participant aware of these terms and that they have accepted these terms.
Payment for Registration
Full payment of the applicable fee for the Event is due within 7-days of submitting your registration.
If you are registering within 90-days of the Event you will be required to pay at the time of registering, using a credit card or via EFT deposit.
Currency and GST
All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD$) and include GST, unless otherwise stated.
Confirmation and Tax Invoice
Once you have completed your registration, you will be sent a confirmation email with a PDF Tax Invoice. Please ensure that your valid email is entered correctly on the registration form and check your junk mail folder in case your confirmation email(s) are caught by spam filters.
Conference Updates
Information for attendees will be sent electronically to the email address that is provided at the time of registration.
Program Changes
The Host and Straight2 Complete Conference & Event Management reserve the right to change any and all aspects of the Event, including but not limited to, the Event name, themes, content, program, speakers, format, performers, hosts, moderators, venues, and times.
Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights to the Event content, and all materials distributed at or in connection with the Event are owned by Australian Insurance Law Association and Straight2 Complete Conference & Event Management, the sponsors, &/or speakers presenting at the Event.
Participants may not use or reproduce or allow anyone to use or reproduce any trademarks or other trade names appearing at the Event, in the Event content, or in any materials distributed at or in connection with the Event for any reason without the prior written permission from the Host.
No part of the Event may be recorded, reproduced or transmitted in any form or by any means, electronically or mechanically, including but not limited to video or audio recording, photographing, photocopying or any other information storage or retrieval system known now or in the future, without the explicit written permission of Australian Insurance Law Association.
Limitations on Use
By registering for the Event, you agree not to sell, trade, transfer, or share your registration or Event access link and/or code, unless such transfer is granted by the Host or Straight2 Complete Conference & Event Management. If the Host or Straight2 Complete Conference & Event Management determines that you have violated this policy, Straight2 Complete Conference & Event Management may cancel your access, retain any payments made by you, report you to law enforcement authorities, and ban you from future events.
Insurance
The registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. Participants are advised to take out appropriate insurance.
Neither the Host nor Straight2 Complete Conference & Event Management covers individuals against the cancellations of bookings for any reason including cancellation or postponement of the Event or for theft or damage to belongings.
Registration Cancellation
Cancellation and refund terms and conditions
Voluntary Cancellation
Should you decide to cancel your registration, the following refunds will apply from the date of receipt of notification:
On or before Wednesday 15 August 2024:
- 100% refund less an administration fee of $110 including GST
After Wednesday 15 August 2024:
- No refund available.
However, an alternative delegate name may be provided by email and the booking and funds will be allocated accordingly.
Please note no refund or discount will be made if a function or event inclusive within the registration fee is not taken up, or if you subsequently cancel your participation in that function or event.

If accommodation has been secured direct with a hotel please refer to the hotel cancellation terms and conditions and please contact the hotel yourself directly.
In the case of extenuating circumstances, a refund outside of these terms and conditions may be considered by and at the discretion of the Australian Insurance Law Association upon application.
Conference Cancellation or Postponement
The Australian Insurance Law Association may cancel or postpone the Conference due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to Acts of God, terrorism, war, strikes or industrial action, fire, explosion, inevitable accident, breakdown of property, changes in law, or pandemics or global health crises. Due to the nature of the event, it may be reasonable to postpone the event to a later year and/or to change the location for the Conference.
In the event of postponement of the Conference, if, when requested, you advise that you are willing to attend the rescheduled Conference, the Australian Insurance Law Association will transfer the registration and guarantee the same conditions and equivalent registration entitlements (subject to reasonable modification and availability) at the rescheduled event. If, later, you then choose not to attend the rescheduled Conference, the Australian Insurance Law Association will not be required to refund any part of the Conference registration fee.
In the event of a full cancellation of the Conference by the Australian Insurance Law Association, you will be entitled to a full refund of the amount of the Conference registration fee received.
The maximum liability of the Australian Insurance Law Association under these Terms and Conditions is limited to a refund of the Conference registration fee with no additional liability for travel costs, hotel costs, or any other associated costs.
Insurance
Delegates are strongly advised to secure appropriate travel and health insurance. Delegate registration fees do not provide any such insurance coverage. The 2024 AILA National Conference Organising Committee, the Australian Insurance Law Association and the Conference Manager accept no responsibility for any loss in this regard.
COVID-19
The event will take place in accordance with federal and state government, and venue COVID-19 safety guidelines and protocols, and the Host and Straight2 Complete Conference & Event Management will take all reasonable steps to provide a safe environment for all event attendees, staff, and suppliers.
In registering to attend the event in-person, you acknowledge that whilst all precautions are being taken to make the event COVID safe, there is a risk of contracting COVID-19 at the event, and you do not hold the Host or Straight2 Complete Conference & Event Management responsible for any transmission at the event.
In person attendees are required to abide by all COVID-19 guidelines and protocols in place at the venue at the time of the event which may include but not be limited to social distancing, mask wearing and vaccination mandates.
Any delegates, feeling unwell or displaying COVID-19 like symptoms must not attend the venue.
COVID-19 Compliance
All participants at the Conference will be required to comply with the COVID-19 Safety Guidelines and protocols in place with the venues and the Conference which will be aligned and compliant with all relevant Government health advice at that time. By registering for this event, the Australian Insurance Law Association reserve the right to provide your contact details to authorities for the purposes of contact tracing and any other relevant Government requirements.
Delegate Cancellation – Medical
The health and safety of Conference attendees is our highest priority. The Australian Insurance Law Association are mindful of the health risks posed by COVID-19, and the importance of following official medical advice with respect to social distancing, practising good hygiene and staying at home when unwell. The Australian Insurance Law Association request that any delegate who is feeling unwell or has cold or flu like symptoms, or who may have been in contact with someone with COVID-19, not attend the Conference.
If, on medical grounds, you are unable to attend the Conference, you must cancel your in-person attendance in writing by email to AILA2024NationalConference@straight2.com.au.
A full refund may be provided at the discretion of the Australian Insurance Law Association; however, you may be asked to provide additional details.
Technical Disruption
The Host and Straight2 Complete Conference & Event Management does not take responsibility for technical issues outside of our control, i.e. internet and power outages. Where possible we will supply backup solutions to avoid any prolonged interruptions, but this cannot be guaranteed if the cause of the interruption falls outside our jurisdiction.
Where a technical outage/malfunction is the cause for a temporary or complete failure to broadcast the Event, content will be made available to view online at your leisure (on-demand). Straight2 Complete Conference & Event Management will make every effort to communicate with registrants regarding the technical outage/malfunction via the online portal or if the platform is unable to transmit communication, an alert will be sent via email, conference app or mobile text message, and posted to the Event website.
Use of Images or Voice
By registering for the Conference, you acknowledge and consent that during your attendance at the AILA 2024 National Conference your image or voice may be recorded via video, photograph or by any other means (“recorded”) by an officer or official of the Conference, which may be distributed or published at the discretion of the AILA. If you do not wish to be recorded, you are required to formally advise the AILA 2024 Conference Manager.
Privacy Policy
If you interact with AILA and Straight2 Complete Event & Conference Management as a client, member or conference participant, personal information about you will be held for the primary purpose of supplying you with information related to membership, conferences and events. We gather and process your personal information in accordance with our privacy statement, in compliance with the Australian Privacy Act and European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We comply with these legislations and are committed to protecting the right of the individual to the privacy of their information. By registering for this event AILA and Straight2 Complete Event & Conference Management reserves the right to provide your contact details to Authorities for the purposes of contact tracing and any relevant Government requirements. Code of Conduct and Disruptive Behaviour
In registering for the conference, you agree to:
- Maintain a high standard of behavior and professionalism at all times;
- Not act in a dangerous, noxious, noisome, offensive, illegal, immoral, noisy or objectionable manner;
- Strictly observe and comply with all requirements, orders and directions of the competent authority responsible for the administration of the Liquor Act.
You acknowledge and agree that the Host and/or Straight2 Complete Conference & Event Management reserve the right to exclude any person from registering for, or participating in, any Event. In addition, the Host and/or Straight2 Complete Conference & Event Management may remove any person from and their access to the Event if, in their sole discretion, determine that your participation or behaviour creates a disruption or hinders the Event or the enjoyment of the Event content by other attendees.
